Show Off Day!

Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be FCAT Reading testing. This is our time to show off what we have learned this year!! I am so confident we will all do our very best! Love to all!

Reading Session 1- 4/15- 70 minutes
Reading Session 2-4/16-70 minutes

Math Session 1- 4/21- 70 minutes
Math Session 2- 4/22- 70 minutes

Krispy Kreme

Donut delivery is Wednesday, April 2nd!  Please pick-up donuts and certificates between 6:00 and 7:30 a.m.  Donuts and certificates MUST be picked up by an adult BEFORE school starts.  Field trip balances and forms will go home on Monday, March 31st.

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone has had a restful Spring Break! I know that I did. I enjoyed spending extra time with my hubby, who over Spring Break was promoted to Captain Cribbs at the Ocala Fire Department! Yay! I am so proud of him. With Spring Break almost gone, I wanted to let you know what will be coming in the next few weeks. First, we will be reviewing, reviewing, reviewing! Make sure you are here each day and on time. You don't want to miss this great opportunity to "tune up" and refine your skills! Also, we will be hosting "Spirit Week" next week, April 7th. See the flyer below. FCAT testing begins the week of April 14th, with FCAT Reading first. I am very confident that we will be at our very BEST in the month of April! I love you all!

Spirit Week

April 7 - 11, 2014

This week has been designated as FCAT Spirit Week to inspire students and boost their self-esteem in preparation for the FCAT.

Monday, April 7^th - “Hats off to us!  We are going to do our best on the FCAT!”  Students may wear a hat of their choice.

Tuesday, April 8^th - “We are putting our best foot forward on the FCAT!” Students may wear their favorite shoes.

Wednesday, April 9^th - “We are going to shine on the FCAT!”  Students may wear sunglasses.

Thursday, April 10^th - “Let’s turn our scores around!” Students may wear their clothes backwards.

Friday, April 11^th - “Sock it to the FCAT!”  Students may wear funny, colorful socks.  Spirit Week will end with a Pep Rally on this day 12:45 - 1:45

Reading LIA Window starts Monday!

We will actually be testing on Tuesday and Thursday. Please be here!! Makeups are hard and don't tend to give the most accurate read of student abilities, due to the noisier setting. No makeups past next Friday! Thanks for your help with this!

A Word of Thanks

I know it has been a few weeks now, but I wanted to say thank you for all of your kind thoughts and prayers, after my sweet grandmother passed. I appreciate you all understanding that I needed to be with my family for a few days. Your thoughtfulness did not go unacknowledged. I have the BEST class ever!!

I was so proud of our class today! In general, I think everyone felt comfortable and confident! I know that they all did their very best! Just one general reminder: Students are NOT to discuss the prompt to any extent with anyone, including parents. Thank you for you help with this! I can't wait to see these scores SOAR!

Valentine's Day

Students can bring valentines and individually wrapped candy treats for their classmates on Friday, February 14th. We will be enjoying an edible, sweet Science Treat! :)

Math and Science LIA scores

Hello All! I hope you are having a restful Monday off! I just wanted to share how proud I am of some of the students in our class! We showed some amazing growth on Math and Science LIA! We have many that will be earning something special for each LIA for increasing by 10+ points or who are in green, which is where we want to all be! I will be posting LIA scores in our "secret code" fashion on Tuesday morning. Make sure you ask your child how they did! :)

PSS- Please make sure you are "hovering" as your child works on their writing homework over the next several weeks. We want to make sure they are staying on topic, using good grammar and spelling, and just overall giving their best. FL Writes is Feb. 25th!
